McDonald's has just proven that you can grow your profits in a recession, simply by providing products or services to people who want to save money.

It may sound obvious, but wait - aren't those McCafe espresso-based coffees more expensive than their regular cup of coffee? If your business is struggling with sales, why lower the price on your current product? Instead, it may be to your advantage to expand your product line to include a more expensive-style product... at a "bargain" price.
