Home Business ExpertI've been getting quite a few questions about starting a home health care business recently, so I thought I'd post a links to resources that people might find helpful.
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) provides information online about health and safety standards and regulations specifically for nursing homes and personal care facilities at their website

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has information on mortgage insurance for nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

To get an idea of how a home health care business is run, look at how other successful companies are doing it. You can look online at franchise sites like Homewatch Caregivers or Companion Connection Senior Care to see the different services offered and even request information on typical daily tasks, start-up costs, etc.

US News and World Report published an article discussing the basics of what you need to start a home health care business.

The SBA (Small Business Administration) offers local resources that you can usually take advantage for for free. Getting information that pertains to your particular city or county can be extremely helpful.

And Business.gov can tell you which licenses and permits you need depending on your location. Just click on "Register, Licenses & Permits" and type in your zip code. Other resources and guidebooks on starting a home health care business can provide step-by-step instructions and guidance from experts in the home health care field.
